When Using A Mobile Vet Makes A Vet Visit Easier On You And Your Pet

It's always good to get your pet used to the vet at an early age so vet visits won't be traumatic for them. However, some animals are too high-strung to travel in a carrier and go to the vet without suffering from anxiety. If you hate to see your pet struggle with veterinarian visits, consider using a mobile vet.

Your pet will still need to be handled and examined, but they will at least be in their own home where they can feel safe and secure. Here's when using a mobile vet is a good idea.

When Your Cat Gets Aggressive During Vet Visits

Cats can sometimes get aggressive when they're scared. This is particularly true of feral cats or stray cats. They may fight about getting in the carrier, and they may claw and bite when you try to get them out. Rather than avoid the vet, call a mobile vet to come to your home for routine checks.

That way, your cat won't have to miss appointments and they'll get the care they need. Getting to stay at home in familiar surroundings and not having to ride in a car could make a big difference in how they act during an examination from the veterinarian.

When Your Pet Is Feeling Sick

If your pet isn't feeling well, they may not tolerate being handled and riding in a car. If your cat has a serious health problem, it may need to go to a vet clinic anyway, but it doesn't hurt to get an opinion from a mobile vet as long as your pet can be seen without too much delay.

Mobile visits may be easier on you and your pet too when they're recovering from a stay at the vet clinic for an illness or injury. Your pet will still get good care, but not have to be bothered when they may be in pain or sick.

When It's Time To Put Your Pet To Sleep

Having to put a pet to sleep is difficult, but sometimes it's necessary if your pet is suffering. When that time comes, consider calling a mobile vet so the process is easier for you and your pet. Your pet can stay as comfortable as possible rather than having to travel to a vet and be bothered by the commotion and noise.

A mobile vet can provide many of the same services your pet would get at a veterinarian's office or clinic. You may find that it's more convenient to use a mobile veterinarian whether you need multiple pets treated on the same visit or if you just have one pet to be treated.

About Me

Keeping Your Cats Healthy and Happy

My name is Deidre Holland and I am very much a cat person. I have several cats at home and before I bring a new cat into the household, I always take the animal to a veterinarian for a wellness exam. I want to make sure that the new cat is healthy before bringing him or her into the household with the other cats. The veterinarian gives the cat a complete physical exam and the required vaccinations. If you like cats as much as I do, I think that you'll find this blog very informative. In addition to the importance of a wellness exam, you'll learn the steps for introducing a new cat into the household. You'll also find out about nutrition, illness and behavioral problems in cats. Owning cats for many years has given me the experience to help other cat owners and I hope that it helps you.
